Originally from Netherlands, Lara entered practice in 2004, after completing her Masters degree in Architecture from Technical University of Delft. She went on to found LMC Architects in early 2007.
Previously, she worked as a concept architect with Ratan J. Batliboi Architects (2004-2005), where she led the firm’s winning entry for the international competition for the Beautification of Marine Drive, Mumbai. She subsequently worked with STUP Consultants for two and a half years (2005-2007) on various large scale projects in Doha, Dubai, Ghana as well as throughout India.
As a design coordinator of a team for a year-long project at Archetype (a French firm in India, 2007), she gained vital understanding of all facets of construction practices. She has strong conceptual skills, an eye for detail, and an enormous amount of energy to complete projects to the satisfaction of all parties. She has taught bachelor of architecture students at KRVIA, Mumbai (2006) and has been a visiting juror and lecturer at Sir JJ College of architecture and Nirmala Nikitan College in Mumbai for many years.
